Go For Broke National Education Center – Torrance, California
Position:
Development Director
Reports to:
President and CEO
Major Duties:
- Work closely with the President/CEO to create an overall strategic plan for Development and for the public phase of a capital campaign
- Manage Corporate, Foundation and Donor relations with President/CEO and Board of Directors
- Develop and execute all aspects of annual fund campaigns, planned giving and membership program
- Plan and execute annual gala dinner, Evening of Aloha; serve as dinner committee liaison
- Assist with national outreach; includes identifying and researching potential donors, developing a cultivation and stewardship program; creating presentations
- Generate reports and maintain Raiser's Edge Donor Database
- Write and review all fundraising copy for brochures, correspondence and solicitations
- Manage and mentor three development department staff
Time Commitment:
Full-Time (40 hr/wk, including some nights and weekends)
Qualifications:
- Possess an understanding and commitment to the GFBNEC mission
- Bachelor's degree required
- 3 years of capital campaign experience required
- 3-5 years of fundraising, marketing and/or public relations experience
- Experience in special events coordination
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Managerial and supervision experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively with staff and volunteers
- Ability to multi-task and deliver on commitments in a fast-past environment
- Proficiency in Raiser's Edge Database preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Ability to attend community functions on weekends/weeknights
