THE MIS: BRIDGE TO A NEW JAPAN
The MIS: Bridge To A New Japan is an 11-minute machinima (animated movie) featuring the story of the Military Intelligence Service's (MIS) role in the occupation of Japan in the aftermath of World War II.
Featuring narration from the National Education Center's oral history archive, along with historical footage from the National Archives and videogame animation, the movie describes the importance of the language and cultural skills of the Japanese American men of the MIS in helping to rebuild Japan after the war.
This machinima was created by Nick Miletic, a talented Southern California film school graduate who participated in the Go For Broke National Education Center's internship program.
